How long can you keep fresh fillets in the fridge before eating them?
I have some fillets and would hate to waste them but cant eat them for a few days.
Is 5 days on Ice in the fridge too long, when do they go bad?

If you keep em alive until cleaning & clean em good (keep blood off the flesh) and keep em as cold as possible, say near 35 degrees, they will hold up to 5-6 days OK. I usually give my excess to friends/neighbors unless I hit a lot of nice eyes in a short period of time. Then I'll freeze some but like to consume them within a couple months or freezer burn sets in. I do not have a vacuum pack thingy, probably should though.

"Oldgrandman",
Covering the fish with water before you freeze them helps to prevent freezer burn and will give you more time in the freezer.

Hate to see them go to waste, you better just give them to me.
I would say 3 days in the fridge, however, if you use a vacume sealer on them, they can last up to 2years in the freezer
The best fish is fresh fish ,some just don't freeze well at all >
All fat fish eat em fast !
