Wish I could help you with some specific spots. We vacationed on Gun Lake for a week last year. First time we were ever there, and from the cabins we were at I don't remember what was N-S-E-W, lol. All I can say is, we fished many a spot, both deep & shallow. And 'deep' could have been near shore as well as out toward the middle, as well as could be 'shallow'. We didn't catch a 'lot' of fish, but did seem to get more into LM than most anything else, as were the majority of everyone else we saw. We caught a 'few' nice slab gills, but not all that many. And we also briefly got into some rather nice crappie. 'Everything' we caught of any reasonable size were more near any shoreline. As opposed to fishing the middle anywhere. Yet (no matter the time of morning/day/evening), there were an awful lot of people who really hung through the center of the lake. But I never did really notice that any of them were honestly having any better luck than we had elsewhere. A lot of people were fishing right off most any dock area and seem to be hammering LM decently, yet few were of any decent keeper size. 'Close', but few cigars. Wish we'd had another week on it! Oh....and the lake gets murky and chewed up grassy a 'lot' during the day. Boaters, jet skiers, etc. We were told and shown a number of supposed 'hot spots', was given lots of advice on 'baits', but little to none of the tips ever seemed to really pan out all that well. Good size lake, fun, had a decent time.
