Smallmouth in Elk Rapids

Anybody ever fish Grand Traverse Bay up by Elk Rapids for smallies? Thinking of heading over there Sunday with the family to give it a shot. Any help as direction from the marina launch and anything else would surely be appreciated. Want to fish the big water not the lake., As it should be about spawning time for them. Will post my results Monday.

Your gonna wanna head north about 4 miles . there is a shelf system out about half a mile from shore. Also try the hump out front of Topoco swamp south of ER.
