Camping up in croton this coming Saturday, most of the time we will be on the river fishing rainbows and browns but thinking of working the lake later in the evening for whatever might entertain us. Can anyone give us a heads up on what to expect, what kind of bait to run with?
Thanks

Minnows & Wigglers for Perch , worms & waxies for gills , cranks & soft plastics for Gamefish...
Flats for pannies , breaks for bigger critters...:evilsmile
WATCH out for GatorSlime.

Shouldn't be bad , Dough - I personally haven't fished the pond in over a month but my best friend's been on it...
He's KruncHeD a few Slimers on X-Raps recently ~
The salad from all the salad shooters from the holiday might be a pain though...

Well were going to camp at the camp ground by the dam and fish Saturday afternoon thru Sunday, we are also going to try to the back/slow waters below the dam. We will stop at Parsley, get the low down pick up every kind of bait available and hit it hard. At night we'll draw everything and see if we can't get some hook ups, we have a map of the lake and its depths so that should hepl us some. Thanks for your help
One last thing, is the fishing better on the north or south part of the lake?

The "small" side of the pond has been good to us for perch with an occasional rare 'eye - various SMB's and there's a lot of Slimers in 'little croton' - although the big side can burp up some good fish too , I've spent more time over the years on the lil pond.
G'Luck & leave some for us!

i would have to agree the little pond provides more consistent action..BIL took his biggest pike ever from there 37 incher...and we've had a few nice ones , along with numerous other fish............eyesforever gave us a nice 'troll line' so we have had great luck..on the big pond side we take walleyes trolling thedrops at dusk and later
