I just got back from Simcoe and I first want to thank all you guys who gave me very helpful info and thank everyone who posted info. This is my 3rd trip there in 3 years. The previous 2 trips I had got like 25 perch and 7 perch. Very frustrating. By your info I had the best time ever. 2 of us both got our limit and brought home our 200 perch. Bulk of fish came out of Keswick. We used a russian type hook. Green on front with a silver back got a majority of fish using mousies and spikes. Ice was 8 inches in 1 spot and 5-6 inches in the deeper water. Also fished Virginia beach and finished off our limit there. The First hour is hot. Need to be there right at first light. Then the last 45 minutes of light the Jumbos move in. Need to stay as late as possible as they are biting good even as you leave. If you can get wigglers bring em as the fish are chuck full of them out of keswick. Good luck and good fishin!

Brian same with us....We were a little South of Keswick on the other side of the pressure crack....We were all done or close to being done on Saturday by noon when we went for a little Recon off of Holmes point for a little change of scenery....Found a few fish later in the afternoon. Reports out of Beaverton and Sinbald point were good as well. But we stayed in Cooks for Sunday and all ended up with between 35 and 50 pulling lines at 11 am....

Hey guys, thanks for the reports. Leaving Thursday for 4 days. Were you taking quads out in Cook's Bay? Did you go as north as Roches Point. Just wondering as we pick nice fish up there. Did you see guys up there on quads or snowmobiles? Appreciate it!

Sounds like you guys did a little better than the group I went with. We fished Virginia Beach Sat. and Sun., ended up with 200 keepers between 4 guys. We caught alot of fish but most of the fish were small, real small. We fished with spikes, waxworms and beaded spoons, but if your spoon wasn't tipped with a maggot then you wouldn't catch a fish. I did manage to catch a couple of pigs, one 13" and one 14". I plan on getting these mounted. Can anybody recommend a reputable taxidermist in the SE Mi area that does good work?

I beleive I could see Roaches point and there were people out from there. At Virginia Beach us also were catching very small perch but the last hour of light the hogs came in. I am going again on Friday taking the family. Will be fishing out of Gilford area. I will use a hut for the first time so that the kids and wife are comfortable.
