Did a little fishin, found some kings, nothing overly big but it was a start, good laker catches, one steelhead and a few eyes to boot two mornings out. Seems to me the smaller spoons are working best. Taking a Lot Less trips as I am commuting to OH now for my work.
Good Luck and tight lines everyone.

Good to see you posting again Stinky, your one of the few Oscoda contacts on here, nice job. Let's hope some return this fall.
Yeah, thanks for the report. I miss being up there and it's good to hear there's a bit more than lakers. What was the boat traffic like up there? It was just a few years ago that the 4th weekend would have guys parking in the grass. I imagine it doesn't even compare to that now.

Good to see you made it up there Rick. I was beginning to wonder if you were going to fish this year.
Thanks for the report bud. Let me know when you plan on making it back up. Maybe we will tag team those silvers...I miss fishing that port.

Have the lake to my self, I counted 20 boats or so on a day I would normally be able to count 200. That has been the one benifit of all this....
Hi Bob, good to here from you , ya know I ran into that friend that wanted the arch, are you still doing that? I will be up July 19 through the 23 maybe the 18th.
good luck everyone.
Oh yea I wanted to mention I was tolking to some people involved in the stocking program, they said do to the unseasonable warm weather this spring and I guess some problems with the pens about half of the plants died and they released the rest earlier than normal. I would imagine the cormorants did a number on those.
A freind has been banging limits in the UP and I may make a trip up there in early August

I'd say whichever one you like best. Off Oscoda, my buddies been getting kings due NE on meat.

I would not be targeting the kings, browns and eyes would be my target. but depending on the wind you never know i have fished them in thirty five feet this time of year..given the right winds. I also picked up walleye a couple a weeks ago in 90 feet of water so what do I know....

glock, i'd say head to sable point, 80-110 fow to begin. my buddy has been fishing the point and bay area with absolutely no luck this year. he's a local that used to fish 5-6 days a week until gas went up so high. he said he hasn't caught crap in the bay this year, no walleye, salmon or browns...very untypical for that area and that fisherman.
my guess is they are out deeper where he doesn't go. he's only got a 16ft smokercraft voyager, not a bad boat but he doesn't venture far.
try standard sized spoons at slower speeds run a meat rig with a dodger in the middle of your spread.
good luck

Try smaller spoons if all else fails. A couple people I know have been doing decent on small spoons.

Seems the smaller spoons have been doing the best for us this year. Pink alewife has been our number one in Lake Huron, in Lake MI the watermelon colors have been good in the standard sizes.
