Any of you folks fished this lake.
Downriver Tackle has been a good source of info.
We have never fished here and would appreciate some info.
We will not be bringing any fish home--may eat a few while there.
Probably will be putting in at Jack's Landing.
Any info. on where to fish would be nice.
Thanks

you have jacks landing, lyons landing, anglers hideaway and a few others(old paradise lodge, heines, )..normally you can always find an open slot..jacks has cabins and motel rooms plus camping..if not u can always just motel it out of hillman and launch at the dnr site.. try this http://www.jackslanding.com/

from Hillman to the launch is only about 10 minutes. most of the landings will have openings, especially this weekend after the 4th. i used to work at one when i was younger and we had campers pulling in at ALL hours of the night.

I just got back from Fletchers a couple weeks ago with great success. The bass and pike were feisty as hell. We caught around 20 pike, numerous bass and one 25-inch bowfin. We stayed at Jacks landing and pretty much started fishing at Lyons landing and drifted across the lake casting spinner baits and cranks. It’s a great time to be on the lake. My buddies just got back this week and they caught a lot of fish also. I don't think I have ever fished Fletchers without catching a ton of fish. IMO spinner baits are the way to go. The lake has alot of weeds and stumps and the spinner baits are almost weedless. Chartruse and perch color was hot every time I was there. Also floting rapalas produced well along with meps.

Oh and if you are targeting pan fish just drop a piece of worm on a hook in and you will get a gill. Or maybe a nice perch.

If you don't catch fish on fletchers pond your doing something wrong. The pond is loaded with fish.

We've had sucess with spinner baits for bass and with sucker minnows on a bobber for pike. Watch your prop...the pond is loaded with stumps that are just a foot or so under the water surface. You can also catch gills endlessly if that's what you prefer.

Same group of guys have been doing the week long annual fishing trip for over 8 years now. Last bastion of single life most guys have left. And this year's trip is only 13 days away now!
Without a doubt, watch the stumps. You'd better know the lake if your going to do anything above 5mph. A few years ago guy shows up at the DNR launch and shouts out to us "what's the fishing like, where to go, etc". I noticed he had out of state plates on his rig. A nice looking $25K bass boat with a big 225 on back. I told him about the fish, what we were using and above all watch out for stumps. Guy thanks us, launchs, and proceeds to rooster tail straight across the lake. Made is less than half way when BAMB! Stump. An hour later saw him limping in with the trolling motor. Reminds me of a saying my Great Grandmother always said, (probably in relation to telling a child not to touch a hot stove)..."If you can't listen then you got to feel." And that guy felt alright.
Areas to try: Pike head to the west side of the lake and look a barn on shore. start about a good 1000 ft or so and drift in towards shore. Black spinners have always produced here. A lot of bites right at the boat so don't give up early on your cast. Bassing, we've seemed to had great luck straight out from jack's (far opposite side) throwing senkos, any spinner, and my favorite at sundown on water like glass the buzzbait. Two years ago had a 22" LM just crush a double bladed buzzbait on the proverbal "last cast of the trip".
Don't pan fish too much.
Good luck and have fun!
