I am going to buy a 12 Volt Deep Cycle Battery Group 27 for an electric trolling motor. I was reading an article that said the battery charger must have a setting for 10 AMP (10A) at 12 volts (12V3). I now have a deep cycle battery charger with a 12 volt, 12 amp or 6 volt, 12 amp. Can I use this battery charger on the 12 Volt Group 27 battery that I am going to buy? I could not find this info in the owners manual or on the charger.

Ray good idea not going solar its to costly, unreliable and a theives treasure. The extra 2 amps should be tolerable but buy the heaviest gauge extension cord you can get. To "narrow" of a gauge (wire inside) and too long of cord will also raise your amperages to the charger. When the amps go up you get heat and heat in the wrong areas will fry the charger. 100 ft extensions and further distances buy the heaviest extension cord you can get. Electrical wholesale, Lowes.... there not cheap either.
