I went to Marysville this morning with me buddy Ray. We launched at 7:00 and was putting the boat back on the trailer at 8:20 with a two man limit. We were verticle jigging Hopkins spoons in 25 ft of water.

I really think that is the way to go these days since it seems the bite has slowed latley on harnesses, I think after my little trip I am taking if the fish havent got going real good on harness when I get back the jigging thing I think is the ticket I am going to be running next, Good job on the fish.. We started with harnesses and couldn't keep the Gobies off, so we switched to jigging. With this being a 4 day weekend I was confussed when I posted this. I was up there this morning (tuesday) not Sunday. It just felt like Sunday with returning to work tomorrow.

I started using Gulp last year. It has worked well on jigs for me. Are you using it on harnesses too? If you are what kind? 3 or 4 inch worms? in what color?

yes I do use it on harnesses, I use the 4" gulp turtle back in pumpkin seed color.. Look at my post for today and you will see what else I caught 4 fish on, I bought these for jigging but them seem to work on harnesses as well.. Cya Slick
Ps..I was going to ask you where you bought the hopkins spoons at. a buddy told me where but I forgot where he said he got them from..

Bass Pro has the best selection of Hopkins, I also buy the XPS spoons from there too. The XPS are in the shape of a minnow and come in colors like BLK/Silver, Blue/Green, BLK/Gold. The Greens and Blues work best in the XPS and the Silver Hammered in the Hopkins. Cabelas has a Cabelas brand jigging spoon that works well also.
The next time I run a harness I try the Gulp worm. I have the Pumkin seed color. I prefer jigging but sometimes dragging a harness works better. The Walleye fishing has been so fast that it seems like you just get on the water and it's time to leave. With jigging the spoons we get a lot of by catch (Bass, Catfish, Sturgen,) in the early spring we were catching Steelies, Salmon, and Browns as well as Walleye on the spoons. I like to put a mylar skirt on the treble hook that time of year.
