Anyone ever fish lake fanny hoe near Copper harbor? Will be spending a week up there starting 7-11. Was wondering if there are any carp in there, besides the usuual bass, pike and walleye. Any info would be appreciated.

With the surrouding settings and time of year, for me, Fanny Hooe was one of the coolest lakes I've ever fished. I had just spent a week and a half fishing the busier lakes of Minnesota and the Western UP with very poor success. My brother and I took out the canoe on a warm evening, and on my first cast, I landed a 20 inch smallmouth. There isn't really a huge population of predator fish, but there are a few in there. Supposedly, the DNR stocks splake there every year. Good luck!

I have not fished Fanny Hoe in about 10 years, but when I did I managed to catch some very nice Brookies. Fish minnows suspended under a floating bobber just of the drop offs. That's what worked for me.:)
