Hello all well I know I have not been posting all my trips just because I dont wanna have to hear it and so forth and I know 90% percent of you have given me your support and I do apperciate it.. Well here is my report the fish have slowed down consideably compared to the months before and you can tell because the quanity of boats is no where near what it use to be and the fish are not commiting fish suicide:lol:

The walleye have sore mouth big time right now and you really have to look for them and it does take longer then it use to get your limit.. I dont know why the bite has slowed now but it has and I am going to have to do more searching the river looking for the hot bite, I know a ton of walleye have been taken out of the river these last few months so that could be the big reason for the slow bite..

I ended up with 9 sunday morning and lost two that morning as well, I had three buddies get there limit sunday morning and a few others boats that where out there had 2,3,4,5 those kinds numbers.. I kinda screwed up I left fish to hit a old spot of mine and it did not produce and when I left there and hit the spot I was on I got three right off the bat, here is a good moto never leave fish to find fish other wise I am sure whould have my limit on sunday:lol: ..

I went out this morning as well and only managed 2 and burned a lot of gas trying to find them:lol: look at the fish in this picture there mouths are burning red right now and I hear that is from eating cray fish off the bottom but it happens ever year and I wonder if there is a hatch of cray fish this time of year of them or what it happens around this time every year who knows.. Well thats about it Cya Slick

PS..I just got a report from my buddy that they got there limit monday but he had to work for them, I need to get this bad mojo out of my boat LOL..

I was going to run up to Decker's and launch tonight. Did it there on Sat night and had 3 within 45 mins. then the kids called me off the north channel? But good to hear from you. The red mouths are from crayfish? maybe the crayfish are eating the fish flies at the bottom of the river and lakes and the walleye are eating the crayfish? But something to think about? have a good 4Th...cya..Mot.

there is not a lot of fish flies here in Saint Clair but I hear that flies also contribute to the red mouths as well..Cya Slick

Fish flies- every year I hear about the slow bite or shut down in Walleye because of sore mouths/red gums etc. Its due to eating fish flies or critters eating fish flies. The slow down may be because they are full.

I may have to look, but I have always been able to fine hungry walleye.

Don't get discouraged. The Walleye you worked may have been eating fish flies or the critters that eat the fish flies- minnow cray fish etc. When the fish flies shut down the "food" be it fish flies , minnows or whatever will move also. The walleye won't be far behind. Otherwise, it's time to move;) ... This is just from what I have experienced and used to guide my fishing trips .

I know where the active fish are right now from some recent reports from friends I got tonight, but the winds are keeping me from there at the moment.. I really dont like dealing with big waves since I sold my bigger boat, I really enjoy fishing out my back door tho:lol: Cya Slick

We went out Mon. night, despite the weather reports and had no problem finding fish. Used gold blades/green beads with a 4 inch turtle back black gulp worm. We caught fish near the state park in Algonac and at Decker's. All fish were in 50-60ft of water. Good Luck!;)

On the way back from the North channel launch tonight the fish flies were very heavy. I didn't notice any red mouth on our fish, however the fish were very light in color and 2 of them had lamprey marks on them.
