got out sunday morning at about 8:00, not many boats on the water...me and a buddy had 8 eyes by 9:30 and the the bite shut off...b.b.'s and crawlers, green blades, 15-18ft of water...picked up one more at 11:00 and then the waves came in...i am no expert, but some of the waves seemed like they were 4 footers...we were in a 18' boat and it took us over 1 hour to go 8 miles and get back to 9 and jefferson...the first fish of the day was a nice 35" northern pike, beautiful color and seemed very healthy...i am trying to get the pic we took from my buddy so i can post it on the site...is anyone going out on the 4th and how do you suppose the boat traffic will be...thanks---thekid:gaga:

were you guys trolling or drifting? where at on the lake? went out this morning, fished near peche island at the mouth, got one eye on a jig tipped with a power minnow. Got a couple sheephead and then couldn't seem to keep the goby off the line. Then picked up a huge smallie that got off right at the boat before I could get a pick, Damn.:smile-mad

The Kid, On boat traffic depends on weather and where your planning on going. The good thing is we had so many nice weather weekends, people aren't in a rush to get out . It's hard when we have 2 or 3 bad weekends and when you plan to hit the lake it's the first nice weekend.
Big lake, avoid the crowd. ;)
