I suppose it is so quiet on this site this weekend due to the high winds and so many folks going up north. I might as well take adavantage of this situation and solicit some advice. My boat is an 18' Lund with a 125 Merc, which bounces around a lot in any winds more than 5-10 MPH so I have to think hard where to launch depending on the winds. I live Northwest of LSC so it does not really matter if I launch anywhere from Crocker to Algonac. For those of you who fish around the Firecracker area, which launch and route gets you to that location the quickest? On a map it appears to be about equal distance from Crocker, S. River Rd, or Algonac.

Since I purchase an annual DNR launch permit during ice fishing season, I usually launch at South River Rd. when going to this area. I have also launched from Selfridge on occasion. Crocker is way to shallow, even for smaller boats.

They just dredged it out in the spring. Been launching my 17' Lund for 3 years and never had a problem.

I've been going out of the Crocker launch. My 22 ft boat makes it thru with no problem. Its 8.5 miles from Crocker on a 120* heading. You can also launch at Algonac and fly down the south channel.

In the past I have used Crocker to get to the Firecracker. Straight shot as Mike mentioned.
