S-buoy probably refers to a sailing course marker, which could be located anywhere they are racing. My guess would be the one out of Bolles Harbor.

I believe Grecian Shoal is marked with a Red Spar.
There are a number of Bouys that are placed by the West Shore Sail Club and used for the WNATR Race Series. My dad raced the Wednesday Night races when sailed years ago. Not to mention having a family membership in the WSSC.
Have to agree with Homer, the S-Bouy is more than likely the West Shore Sail Club's WNATR south mark. (WNATR= Wednesday Night at the Races)
The WNATR "C" bouy is approximately @ N 042.01.399/W 083.06.700.

You're right about the red spar on Grecian, Sabiki. I've never heard anyone call it the S-buoy, it's always referred to as the "mile marker" or "one mile marker".
