Quick question, guys...I came to tap your knowledge. What would be considered a decent lease $ for an 80 acre parcel, in mid Mich. It is approximately 50 acres hardwoods, 30 acres farm.
Any suggestions?
Thank for the help!!!

$800-$1,200 would be in the range of normal.
There are of course some who have sweetheart deals at much lower prices, and there are some hunters who are paying $20/acre or more for leases.

For some quick comparisions check out basecampleasing.com . They probably charge a little more- but gives you an idea.

In the area of 'mid-Michigan' that I'm familiar with...DMU's 34 & 59....the going rate when you can find it is $20 per acre. Virtually all leased ground around my area is leased to family, in-laws, friends, or work colleagues. It is virtually unheard of for 'strangers' to have an opportunity it lease.
We see fellows from Flint or the Detroit area drive over and attempt to lease ground but I know of no ground leased to such hunters. If you don't have an "in" you don't get in. Clannish, I guess.
