i know a fish will "shrink" from being in a live well. i was wandering how much length it will lose, and how much weight can you expect to lose. how much does live well size and air-rator size matter? i imagine it's pretty important, but not for sure.

I've heard they can lose an eighth of an inch. they do loose in weight but how much I'm unsure.

they prolly only lose whatever they spit back up in the livewell....which is sometimes alot...but look at what they spit up and you can get a good idea what they are feeding on so you can make up that weight ;)

Well I don't know. How much length to YOU lose when someone throws you into a tank of cold water?
Sorry, couldn't resist.;)

I've caught bass that just ticked the 14" line on my "The Judge" tournament rule. Hours later they still tick the line at the weigh in on the same rule. Now I will say they may loose some weight due to the aformentioned "puking up their lunch" in the well.

That's why you wrap their lips with velcro , so those "extra" worm weights stay put until after the weigh-in - HUH Mike???
