American Tackle in Holland hosted a weigh your biggest sheepie tournament today with 28 groups entered.

I'm proud to say that team Outer Limits, consisting of long time fishing buddy my 11 year old nephew, and my river and lake on next to no notice fishing buddy Gene Marr, were able to walk away with the title of "King Sheepie".

Gene started the day in grand fashion by putting an 11# in the cooler. It was a good sheep, but we did not know if it would hold up. We released a couple of 8 and 9 pounders and then a rigger jumped. My nephew took it and the fish sounded and started burning drag. For a while we were thinking brown or king. We pulled lines and chased the fish for over 10 minutes before dipping the net. 13.20# and more than enough to take the first spot.

Always fun to fish with people who know their stuff.

I'm thinking I'll fund the Gold Coast if these guys will fish with me....

Oh, if anyone could tell me where the big loud gas burner called "Last Mohican" slips - after blowing by us a couple times WOT at just over 100' - I've got a couple sheepies to sling into his boat.

Congrats on the win!!! I thought about getting into one of those sheep or carp tournies. We were on some serious toads that would have won last week. If you've ever wanted to catch some huge sheep, and I mean some absolute gorrilas, June is the month and Spring lake or Lake Mac are the places to do it.

We won that title at the Lake Erie tourney last year. Wear the honor proud Kevin and nice job on the stick Nicholas!
