Rep. John Boehner, Republican Majority leader in the house, has declared that the immigration bill is all but dead in the conference committee.

So it looks like any meaningful immigration reform will not take place until after the fall elections.

Meanwhile, France just passed a tough new immigration bill, which cracks down on legal immigrants coming into their country and forces them to learn French and adopt the ways of the country. It's pretty scary when the French have more cojones than the Americans do.

This may not be entirely a bad thing Munster. IMHO, no Bill is better than a bad Bill.

France learned first hand what happens when uncontrolled immigration is allowed. We will probably also have to learn the hard way.

I agree that no bill is better than a bad bill but what is frustrating is that the bill under consideration is a bad bill. Both sides are pandering for votes and neither side is willing to take the steps that are needed to stop the flow of illegals entering this country. So after all of the bluster and indignation the net result will be a continuation of the status quo. How many more millions of illegals will enter the country before congress grows a pair. The sad reality is that come election day most of these bozo's will be re-elected. This country badly needs a presidential line item veto.

To expect radical changes (deviation from status quo of far too many years) in an election year is absolutely absurd.
