Help settle our debate. I say these are 2 different deer and my hunting partner thinks they are the same deer. What do you think?

No. Look at the brow tines, curved vs straight. You'll have another big one to chase this fall. Nice pictures.

I would have to say you are right cbhunter. I really don't know how anyone could think they were the same after taking a good look. I agree the brow tines are different and the trail cam pic, the bucks main beams are a little more curvy. Both very nice bucks no doubts there. Wish that was my trail cam,,,, and my spot. Good luck to who ever hunts there, if he is still alive, that buck should be somthing special this fall. Well that's just my 2 cents.

MWP those deer are not in Imlay City, wish they were, they are in Ypsilanti on private land.

Arrowflinger these pictures were taken about 3 weeks apart in the same year.

I think your hunting partner wants that one for himself.

I am sure he does. He didn't get to hunt too much in the first part of gun season. When he finally got out to this spor the corn field had been cut down and the deer were gone. He hunted multiple times and never saw a deer. Bummer

I dont know... intially looking it might be different, but when i really take a look they are so similar it wouldnt be far fetched that the cam view and the other one is just a play on angles. Your trail cam has like a 3/4 angle shot of the antlers and the photo you took is straight on. When you have something like that you can get it to look a little different. I guess for me its to close to tell, so get out and see if you can find the other one.. Suggestion maybe crop out the photo and superimpose the killing pic over the trail cam (photoshop) and see how similar they are, with length of beam and brow tines etc... might help out

I def. think they are different deer its hard to say but the trail cam deer almost looks like it would be a 7 pt. and if it was the same deer as the one shot you would be able to see that tine to make it a 8 pt.

Look how far the right main beam sweep in on the live buckto to point where it is almot in line with the right brow tine now look at the dead bucks right main beam its almost splayed outward the the G1 and G2 are also splayed outwards

Both bucks are definately 8 pointers... you can not see that 4th point as the pic cuts it off... Well either way... It will give ya a good incentive to get out and hunt ...if you have that kind of deer running around, same one or not I would be tempted to never leave...:)

BTW nice buck from last year

you guys are right I won't be able to sleep for a month before Oct. 1. I want to put the camera back out but I am afraid the flash will spook them. I am also afraid the deer won't be there because they planted beans and not corn. The safety of the corn is gone. Here is another picture from the same stand that makes it even harder to sleep. Thanks for all the comments.
