I may be doing a little fishing on this stretch this weekend while visiting the mother-in-law and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations - what might I catch, what should I be rigged for, is it even worth the trouble?

When I think of the Bad River, I think of Cats and Crappies. The railroad bridge by the DNR station for Crappies and the deeper pools for some decent cats. Minnows and bobbers for one and Bell sinkers and cut bait for the other.

I do love some Crappies - and the DNR station is right near where the "family friends" live on the river - so I may have to check that out. Thanks,

There is getting to be a few good size pike in the bad river. White spinner baits work well. I have caught a large mouth also this year. Good luck. Oh yea the water is pretty low right now.

Can you say dogfish to go with the cats. Seen a lot of dogfish caught in that river. Throw anything for them wolves of the river. Dan is correct Crappies at the railroad bridge, I used to be jealous of the guys fishing there when waiting for the draw at the DNR office for duck hunting.
