Does anyone know where I can get some new guides put on my pole? What would the cost be or would it be cheaper to just go ahead and buy a new pole?

I am in the Kalamazoo area, and is this something that I could do myself?

Yes.
I don't know.
Yes.

1) Any rod builder can do it for you. Most reel repair shops offer the service too.
2) That depends on what kind of rod it is.
3) Janns Netcraft offers all the supplies you need to do it yourself.

Pick up a new rod, then get the guides and rebuild your old one. That way you can keep fishing while your doing it... and if it doesn't turn out the way you want... you'll still be fishing!

depends on the value of the rod (sentimentally and monetarily). if it is worth a little bit of money, or worth it sentimentally, fix it up. if its a cheapie rod, prolly cheaper getting another rod.

I saw them at Wal-mart today but I can't vouch for their quality. I am sure they were cheap priced though.

You can get decent quality ceramic guides at any Gander Mountain. At my local store they keep them behind the fishing counter... just ask.
