View Full Version : Fun while it lasted
Summer is here theres no doubt about it. I did enjoy fishing the peirs this past spring and right up till this past weekend. Funny how just when the "catching" gets good the "fishing" goes to heck  Oh well, it is what it is.
God I hate summer!
Hurry up fall!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean, happens at piers, dams and ditches when there's fish there.
Sometimes I don't mind,times when I do.. I'll go bluegill fishing;)
Yeah it's not so bad I guess. Theres places to set a rod but you have to accertive about it. I just don't like to be that way. Whenever I go fishing I really try to not bother anyone else around me. And thats a very difficult thing to do right now on the SW peirs.
My friend from work has been going out after work each evening this week and tearing up on the gills. I'm thinking I'm going to try and get my pop out on a local lake here sunday afternoon for some. Saturday I'm going to make a trip to a spot that I've been wanting to try for a long time. That'll be my fathers day gift to myself. I'm thinking there probably wont be any fish there but you never know unless you go. Right?

I agree, summer fishing can be a pain!
I can't wait for the fall...
But Nov. 15 through early March is my prefered fishing time
When I started this thread originally back in early june I was feeling a bit depressed. Summer is definitely not my favorite time of year. But as summers go I'd have to say this one seems pretty good so far. We still have to make it through the dog days, but I'm starting to see the light on the other side now. Worked on my woods last weekend. Seeing alot of deer this year although no big bucks so far. Been hearing through the grape vine that theres a few salmon scattered out in some of the west side tribs now. So I'm going to take a deep breath and hold it for the next 4 weeks. Hopefully I can make it that long. That should be about the time when things start to get turn around and my summer depression turns into autumn anxiety :)

We just got the papers for the kids going back to school,I had my first fall catalog show up yesterday and I got out the fly vise last week.
I usually call Labor Day the end of summer and the beginning of fall.
You're right we still have a few more weeks left, but it's sure getting closer...geese are flying again and I've heard the same thing of the rivers...I can't wait:)
