Bucks snorting...Bugs coming off the river in waves....Trout rising all over the place..
Ausable? P.M.? Nope, the Clinton River Saturday night.
Caught a dozen brownies 8-11"
One almost pulled my rod out of my hand, started stripping line like crazy, never saw the thing, but I am assuming it too was a brown since those were all that I caught, no chubs, no turds....
All I can really say is that if you fish this river and are not involved in some sort of stewardship project to nurse it back to health, you really need to find the time...

hey all, new to posting but have been an avid "lurker" for a year or so...
good work on the brownies, i too was on the river saturday and landed a personal best clinton brown of 15", things keep getting better.
i really appreciate the crwc (and other orgs) for the work theyve done promoting and improving the river for all users. i hope saturdays "riverday" events went over well and encouraged some people to change their negative perceptions about this tremendous resource we have down here.

I would consider myself an intermediate fly-fisher. I practice catch and release, often without the "catch" part. My question is do any of you guys have a tried-and-true method for landing and releasing a fish midstream on an 8' or larger fly rod? I know this sounds common sense, but I inevitably drop something (like my reel in the water) at least once a trip. The arm-tuck works, sort of. Maybe it's just something I will grasp with time.
