Have kind of a sophmoric question about adding trailer hooks to buzz/spinner baits.
I picked up a package of Eagle Claw trailers today to add to some of the above type baits. They come with small pieces of surgical type tubing that is used to secure the trailer hook to the main hook of the bait. There is no instructions on the trailer hooks and for the life of me I can not figure out how to use the tubing to secure the hooks to each other.
I think I am probably over thinking it, but could someone give me a kick in the butt in the right direction, please?(a pic would be great if possible)
Thanks in advance,

Put the eyelet of the trailer hook over the main hook, then slide a small piece of tubing over the main hook till it meats up with the trailer hook eye at mid bend of the main hook. Does this make sense??

Yep, makes sense and that is how I had it, but the tubing seems real loose and seems like it would come off along with the trailer when cast. Maybe I'll just get some smaller tubing.
Thanks for the info,

Hi jjc155,
It sounds like you're threading the hook through the center of the tube.
You want to go through the side of the tube with the point of the main hook after you have slipped on the trailer. About 1/4" or so of tube is enough to keep the trailer from slipping off. Good luck.

Snip about 1/4" of the tubing. Slide the tubing over the eye of the trailer hook (covering the eye). Insert the main hook thru the trailer eye/tubing. Done, and it holds the trailer semi-rigid making it somewhat more snagless :fish: . Good luck - Bob

Thanks guys, after I sat and looked at it last night after I came up with doing it that way. It was a Homer Simpson "DOH" type moment when I realized how to do it. Made me feel kinda dumb for asking:D
Thanks for the help,

If you do it like just stated some times the when you cast the hook will get turned side ways and stay that way. Its much better to put the trailer hook on and put a small piece of rubber above it. THis leaves the hook free to swing and you will have much fewer problems.
