When did drop shotting gbecome illegal and then legal in michigan or anywhere else for that matter??? Did the Michigan DNR have a brain fart again??

it was illegal for a long time... in fact i think this is the first season you could legally use it since drop shotting became popular a few years back. drop shotting wasn't specifically illegal - it fell under the "no weight inline below a hook" law to prevent snaggers.......

I've been using that to catch bass for the last 9 years all over and that's the first I have ever seen anything about it. It jsut amazes me how silly some rules can be . I agree with the , single barb hook only theory, But I have been checked by the DNR often using that rig and never was givin a problem over it. Matter of fact . I have had 2 officers ask me to show them the technique!
