Does a state parks sticker allow you to launch at the patterson rd launch, or is there a seperate fee and tag required?

Thanks I've never been so I don't know.

Some of our (public money built) DNR ramps have been sold or turned over to city or county authorities, recently the ramp at Augres. But a State Park parking sticker (I think) is not the same thing as a launching ramp sticker. I could be wrong. And if I am, I'm sure somebody will point it out. :16suspect ;)

I'm by no means familiar with all of the launch facilities in the state. But for the most part, a state park sticker isn't good for boat launching. There may be exceptions but the DNR ramps are separate from the state parks and require their own sticker.

it doesn't allow you to launch at the DNR launch on Houghton Lake.

The DNR Launch stickers are still valid @ the AuGres launch. The way I got it is, the State gets the money from the annual stickers sold there, and the City gets the $6 fees paid for daily launch.

Last year my annual state launch sticker was no good at AuGres. State annual is good at Lexington, Patterson rd, Pt. Austin, Tawas, Oscoda, Harrisville, as well as some others around the state. A campground sticker and $1.25 will get you a coffee at a boat ramp.

seems to be some question on Au Gres, they made me buy a daily sticker last year. here's a link. Seems like Pt. Sanillac was also charging to launch a few years ago. Time marches on and my brain stands still, I could be mistaken.

Interesting, I launched there all summer with a state launch sticker with no problems. The year before They would not honor the state sticker, but last year they did, for me anyway.

Here's a listing of all the BAS (Boating Access Sites) that are useable with the $24 yearly launch sticker. Maybe you could print out the list and keep it in the truck. If anyone at the launch gives you a hassle you can pull out the list and show them. Tell them it's straight from the State of Michigan web site.

I don't know why there should be such confusion. If the state says the launch is participating in the program there should be no question.

John

I was in a hurry when I first posted this. I just got back to it and noticed the AuGres listing. It appears that there IS a difference. But from the information listed here, the BAS stickers ARE valid at AuGres.

I believe the Augres DNR Laed back to the state last year. It was city run for 1 year andd I do not think it worked out too well. Last year & this year it is stae run with the regular sticker valid.

Does a state parks sticker allow you to launch at the patterson rd launch, or is there a seperate fee and tag required?

Thanks I've never been so I don't know.

All state park stickers are good for is entrance to the parks themselves. The stickers for the boat launches are state launch stickers and are seperate stickers for access to water. I know they don't work for all state launches though. A regulare state launch sticker will get you in most, but some like Harbor beach have a different fee price to launch and require a different sticker. Atleast the last time I was there about 3 years ago, thats how it was. I can't comment on any other areas that you can't launch. You would be able to launch on Sag. bay though be it Bay City,AuGres,Port Austin. Not sure on Grindstone have only pier fished there. Hope this helps.

You would be able to launch pretty much anywhere on Sag. bay though be it Bay City,AuGres,Caseville. Not sure on Port Austin, and Grindstone have only pier fished there. Hope this helps.

Carefull, the state ramp sticker is only good for state owned ramps. Caseville is a city ramp, so you will have to pay their fee's or buy their anual sticker.

Oops, edited my mistake. Thanks....Haven't launched there, but fish the pier alot and assumed, with parking and outhouses, it to be a state launch. I know what happens when you, ass u me, and shouldn't have.
