Used to be and I believe there still are TX's on Lake Ponemah every Tues. evening and on Lobdell Lake every Wed. evening both were from 6 pm til 9 pm. These are nice little tournaments to get your feet wet in. Used to be one on Pontiac lake every Thurs. evening not sure if that one is still running.

Other than that joining a club is a good way to get some tournament experience, been out of it a while so I do't know what clubs are operating in the area. Check Hick's Tackle (on Clio Rd near I-69) for flyers on small open club TX's in the area.

Go to this site and check the club list it will give you some contacts.

You can also be a non boater in the ABA if you don't have a boat and they are all over the Michigan area.

You can go to www.greatlakesbass.com (http://www.greatlakesbass.com) and there is a forum there that has a list of all of the open tournaments and also some other great bass fishing info.

Just a warning about tournamnets that are held on the same lake every week: some guys fish JUST those lakes and know them so well that almost no one has a chance of beating them. Join a club if you really want to tournament fish. And don't expect to be very good. The guys who tournament fish know what they're doing.

lol Watch those lobdell tourneys. It might seem like a great lake until saturday morning when 3 tournament are coming from three different launches. Jetskis, cruisers, pontoons, tubers, skiers!!! Oh yea

Well for my age (for those who know me, or know about) i think i'm pretty good and know what i'm doing..Just want to see how good..IF anyone needs a partner for any tourny i'd do it in a second. Some people go fishin' and see kids and figure they dont know what there doing...I'm not like that. I'm not "just a teen", i'm a pretty good fisherman...

I'll be looing for some clubs around by me!

Just warning you I think to not get your hopes up to much. Tourneys are a lot different than fun fishing. Fun fishing is normally done early morning or in the evening. Tourney fishing starts around 6-7am and you fish 8 hours in the heat of the day. The bite can be tough and frustrating. If you find fish, stay there. A bite an hour is good on some lakes or certain days. Be patient. If your up my way during the week(Wed.) I have a night tourney every Wed. Your always welcome to join.

Not to offend you, but you probably are just a teen. Maybe I'm wrong. Alot of people think they're good, they join tournaments and realize they're wrong. Maybe you're different, but it happens to most. I wouldn't go in with expectations too high. Sorry if I offended you.
