Question for Lund owners...some of the models, like my Alaskan, have nylon web straps/snaps holding the storage compartments closed. I've had to replace a couple already, and the dealer sends me new ones...no problem. But it's irritating, and so I'm trying to come up with some kind of different hardware for the doors. I contacted Lund directly, and they basically just said no other hardware is available. So I wandered through Lowe's today, and found some hardware for cabinet doors with the friction catch that would work, and for less than a buck a piece, the price is right. I'm sure there are other solutions too. Before I waste my time, do any of you Alaskan owners have any advice or simple fixes for this?

Do Not use anything but stainless steel. Go to west marine or Boat US and find some latches or whatever. f you use anything but stainless, it will rust and stain within a year..

Yep, I thought about that last night. Want to keep it simple, but don't want to create more of a problem for me. Thanks.

I haven't taken it back to the dealership yet, I am still waiting on Lund to send my vinyl camo graphics to the dealership to have them reinstalled.

I've got an Alaskan (1800) and the only thing I've had to do with the latches is replace one snap. They work good other than that.

I've already had two different snaps just pull out of the webbing strap in a little over three months. So the dealer sent me a package of replacement snaps. Ain't a big deal, but I'd still like to find some other kind of hardware for the compartments. Gotta make a stop by West Marine one of these days ;)
