1st time out with the bow that I actually saw fish. 1st shot and a direct hit. Dang I thought this was going to be too easy ... until the second, third, fourth, fifth (you get the picture) shots.:dizzy:
I learned a couple things:
This is almost better than fishing for 'eyes.
Them buggers are hard to hit underwater

The next thing we know you will be sitting at the picnic table with a couple of rods and some secret formula doughbait.

That was my biggest problem! The fish that were in the 1-2 fow had the water so cloudy that you couldn't see them. The fish I could actually get a shot at were in 3 fow and mostly deeper, which made the shot tough for a beginner (for me at least!!).
I was suprised how wary they are!! It is pretty tough to sneak up on them with the electric. I could easily get much closer to the bass and crappie I saw. I think next time, as a stealth tactic, I will stand SFW in the splash well of the boat, and let him pole me around .... kinda like they do down in the Fla. flats.

I was excited for a brief moment.
I would agree that they are pretty squidish. I cant even get that close to them in the kayak.
Even though 15 lbs is a nice fish, I think you can do better Ed. ;)

Gotta push pole - or do we use your White fEEsH net???
BTW - I was going to ask Wesley the same thing... I thought I saw what looked like the S.S. T00na TrackER (a.k.a. my old 14 footer) sitting in WestLakleDrive's Drive... LOL.....

That is correct. Toonna tracker is not yet in service but should be operational as soon as few minor upgrades are complete.

Nice shootin. You Keep doin it enough you'll get a feel for different distances and different depths. It'll get easy. Are the carp in one area more than others. I shot the lake a few years back and didn't have any luck at all. I put in on the south side of the lake by I think it was a vfw or something. Do you have any tips for a good spot to start searching?

Books - That is a Twp Hall on the south side. Yasterday the fish were in and out of the flats by the cut into the old Gerber place (East side). Prolly 3-4 fow and they were in there thick. With the marl bottom in that area it clouds up very easily and I had to work my way along the edge of the clean and dirty water. This morning I went out and the only one I saw/heard was in the lilly pads on one of the bays to the south. There was also a little chop on the water ... which did not help visability.
Wes - If you need help with that motor, or need to borrow a Seelock manual ... I think I have you covered, depending on HP. If I'm not miss-taken I think I recognize that off-white motor cowling, I think I know someone with one like that;) . I have worked on a couple that vintage and before.

I actually caught a carp the other night on my pole and it was almost this big.Even though I wasn't fishing for carp it put up a good fight and was lots of fun to wear out and bring in.It actually was the heaviest fish I have ever brought in but I didn't have camera with me or scales to weigh it.
