Ive fished and done well several times this year, but i dont really know where sparkplug is...

Usually there is an OK sized group of boats out about 4.5-5 miles from hoyles... Then another group around 6.5-7.5 miles out... Are either of these 2 sparkplug?

Just curious... Thanks

The sparkplug is a refrence to two bouy's in the shipping channel coming out of the mouth of the saginaw river. The first sparkplug is probably where you are seeing the one group of boats, and it should be about 7 miles give or take a little east of Linwood. That is either the first sparkplug, middle, little, etc... Most radio chatter won't tell you which one it is. The other bigger spark plug marks the end of the channel. The small one is located in 19 to 20 fow, and the one at the end of the channel is in about 25 to 26 fow. So if you don't know which one they are fishing just ask for a water depth over the radio. BTW the fishing has been good in the area west of the first plug (18 to 20 fow).

So we mustve been fishing at little sparkplug. It was about 20 ft. of water and the fishing was amazing.

The commonly referred to "spark plug" is half way out the Saginaw River Channel.
