The Whale

Another Bay assault on Sunday. Looks like I'll actually have a partner for this trip. Launching out of Patterson Rd. DNR and going to try a new trolling route if the wind cooperates. Shooting out to the sparkplug then taking a course for the Pinconning Bar. "Whale" on 68 if anyone gives a shout. Good luck to all. :fish2:

Not sure if I will be out there tomorrow or not? May try Pt. Austin for some lakers/silver fish. If were out in the bay will try in tight to start and then work out from there.

That might be a good idea Whale. Watch the winds on Saturday though. From my experiences out there if there has been any type of northery winds the days prior to your fishing trip, the fish start to move back in. I might try to get out there on Sunday myself. Don't be afraid to try the coreyn bar on the east side of the channel.

Backlash is right.

I got a buddy who has not fished any deeper than 9 Feet the entire year and his total so far is off the charts.

Walleyealx,

Patterson Rd. would probably be about the same distance for you maybe a little closer. Launch fee is $6/day or $24/year. So yes it is cheaper then Hoyles.
As for the fish moving closer I have to agree. Today we started in 20 fow near the spark plug marking a few scattered fish. Trolled in to 18 fow and they were stacked from top to bottow. Waves got a little ruff for us and we had to call it a day with 7 in the box. All caught on meat. Any blade with a gold back was working for us today. Most fish were caught on a harness with black irredescent beads and gold, green, red blade (tri-colored).

Just report from Thursday. Didn't get out till 10:30. 3 mi. NW of spark plug. 22' trolled SSW in to 19'. Picked up 5 first hour, kept two. Harnesses near bottom. One on a tot. N. wind had a good little chop on the water. Water layed down flat, sun came out, no more bites. Got hot and buggy so we quit. We did see most of the other boats, (maybe 7), pulling fish. Talked to two guys coming in as we were just going out, limits. Maybe I'll try getting out of bed early some day (probably not).
