A word of warning to anyone planning on fishing/boating in the Algonac area this weekend...you might be interested to know that they are having races there on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. I found out that the boat launches (both the city and DNR launches) will be closed from 11am to 6pm on those days. Not to mention what all of the boat traffic will do to the fishing!!!

Take a break from fishing, these races are sweet, and well worth your time to go watch.

I've seen the map of the course and it runs roughly back and forth between the Harsens Island Ferry and the Walpole Island Ferry. It sounds like a cool event to watch!

Anyone try this area the last morning or two?? We were doing good there and I was thinking about giving it a try for a few hours instead of joining the floatilla on the lake. Could be off in plenty of time to get out of the way of the race if the fish cooperate:lol: .
