I was gone Fri. til Sun. at a soccer tournament in Ohio. Went out with my son on Monday got 12 fish pretty quick. Went out alone on Tuesday, wasn't going to go then said what the heck didn't get out til 8:20 and had a limit by 8:40. All fish came on zoom flukes in around 50 ft. of water near the point past Mac Rae's restaurant. When I got out and dropped the trolling motor it wouldn't work at all. That's the second new trolling motor to go out in 2 weeks.

I can vouch for trolling motor problems.....
bought mine new early this year - Minn-Kota - and the third speed in reverse doesn't work.
Not to overly impressed with it to say the least... What do I do now, send it back and quit fishing for the period of time it takes Minn-Kota to repair my motor or just try to fix it on my own and keep fishing???
Well I'm just fishing and dealing with it ( don't have much time for fishing boat maintanance/repair with the 6 week old baby at home....) but I am getting out every morning.... so life is good!!

I have had my second Min Kota Autopilot in the last 4 years. It seems like after 2 years the autopilot feature becomes psychotic and keeps spinning around in circles with no provocation. Anyone have any experience of a reputable repair person I could take it to? The last time the boat dealer said to bring the boat in and they would take a look at it. Turns out they farm out the work and I could not use my boat for several weeks because it took the guy that long to get to it and they did not fix the problem. Unless I find a person I can take it to who will work on it within a couple of days, I may just wait until I winterize it next year. It is too expensive to buy another one. They are around $400 more than they were 2 to 3 years ago.

Nice job beagle 1!
Purchased a new Minn-Kota last year and haven't used it a whole lot. I hope I have better with mine than you guys did with yours! BTW...which models were giving you problems? Thanks!
