I finally broke down and picked up to A & S reels and want to start handlining. They are used but in decent condition. I have pursuit mounting hardware on my boat and I am wondering if any one has mountning suggestions. What to do or what not to do. I also have the pursuit handline universal mounting brackets but I dont know wheaher to mount the reels on top of them or on the bottom. Any suggestions will help Thanks everyone. Goodluck this fishing season.

I make a mount that fits in a regular rod holder base like the Ram, Attwood, or Scotty. It's 8 inches long and pre drilled to mount the reel on the arm extension. They cost $17.50 each.

My email address is keithkrych@sbcglobal.net.

Thanks

Thanks Keith but I already bought the pursuit mounts. I guess I'm wondering if they should be mounted in a hanging position or should I mount the reel on top of the mount.

You can mount them either way it doesn't matter.
Lures: GOT $$$ LOL Buy 2 of every color :)
You can pull any kind of shallow diving body/crankbait, guys will pull crawler harnesses, flat fish, spoons, pencil plugs, miginis, peanuts, poppers, raps, thundersticks, bombers, rabble rousers..............
I tend to stick with spoons during the light and body baits after dark. Usually Raps or Pplugs (big ones spring and fall) then I use SMALL (1-2 inch) body baits thru the summer.
The spoons are made for handlining and are relatively cheap,,, like .65 each you can get them at lakeside. Gary (river rat) has 2 hook pplugs the guys swear by, he's in SCS not too far from you.
Where do you plan on fishing???
PM me if you want any more info.
