I'll be there also. Looking for a guy in a ski mask and goggles who asked me to fish with him. Kind of resembles the drunk dude in my avatar.

We'll be there, we're up the river in Barret's. Hopefully the fishing holds although it will prolly crap out just in time for the tourny, as usual.

Nice job mrymar on the second place finish. Congrats. I never thought anyone would be able to catch up after your comanding lead on day one. It was great weather and a great tourney, we had a blast.

Also congrats to team Reel Deal on their first place finish, and Lake Effect for their 9th spot.

Great job guys.

Congrats reel deal, mrymar, double down! Some pretty impressive results for a tough weekend for most.

I was amazed at hearing all the different ways and places people found fish over the weekend. I guess thats what happens when you put 100+ good boats on the water.

Congrats to the boats that made it happen. We dug ourselves a big hole after day 1 and had to change strategies and mount a comeback just to cash a check (we took 19nth  ). Definantly the most frustrating weekend I've had on the water. Like pelagic1 said, lots of different strategies paid off for the top ten teams, but overall it was a struggle for most.

I'd like to also give my congrats to those who found the fish this weekend.

That was some of the toughest fishing I've ever experianced on the Lake...

Thanks Guys

I really want to thank my crew. My Dad, Idlemoment (Brian), and Double_Down (Jim). My dad did a great job driving and reeling in fish. Brian and Jim were both experts on the rods Friday and Saturday. And they let me reel in a lot of the fish Sunday, starting out 6 for 6. Brian also was a pro netting fish Sunday, and Frazier moving rods out of the way of those king runs at the back of the boat.

Friday we went 11 for 15, fishing 3 different spots. 2 kings at 12 pounds, and a mix of Kings and lakers after that. The first area we popped about 10 bites and we never went back thru it. Frazier wanted us to go check out want was going on by the nets so we setup inside of the nets in 120 FOW. We did not know there were nets inside of these nets and we found ourselves in kind of a tight squeeze, but no loss tackle. Then we ran offshore and set up again, but it was slow. Later on in the afternoon, our friends on Fishwhore fished our number and pulled another 12 fish confirming we had a good spot. We found a few rods and lures that were consistant and had a plan for Saturday.

Saturday we picked and poked at the fish, going 12 for 15. Every half hour we would take a fish. Our hot rod was a mono diver back 63ft set at 1.5. It fired 6 times with 6 landed fish and then the 7th time we wrapped it in a rigger and our hot orange spoon was gone. Riggers down 40-80 and that diver made up most of our catch. At 11:30, we needed 3 fish and we got some very nice trout over 280 FOW on green Dolphins down 118 on riggers. Back to the port about 40 minutes early.

Sunday we ran back to our spot and setup or morning program. Nothing for 65 minutes, watching our friends on Fishwhore take 8 bites in a row right by us and finally we hooked up. Our high morning program with lures close to the boat was not good, and we had about a 6 degree change in surface temp from the day prior. We changed baits around and got deeper and finally started picking and poking at the fish again. Our hot rig on this say was a glo watermelon on 15 colors, which was my only rod that had that much lead on it (I guess I need 2 more Toriums). At 12:30 we landed our 11th fish and needed one more for the limit. We had an attack at 12:48 on the 15 color rod and got the fish all the way to the mono leader when the hooks pulled in the foot and a half chop at 12:59. We had a half hour run running wide open and we had to pull them at 1:10. We cleared the piers with 10 minutes left, but a fish short.

With 11 fish we needed 54 pounds to take the lead back, and we weighed 53. 1 point short.

Thanks to the Fishwhore crew and my crew. We did want we could and that is all you can ask. It was nice to see the Lake Huron guys finish well. We had the best catch Saturday and Russ and his guys I think had the best on Sunday. We also put together the heaviest 2 day total weigh, but were 1 fish short.

We keep knocking on the door, but can't get in………..

Congrats to Jason and the Reel Deal team for pulling out the win in AM, and the guys on Get Some for taking home the big Pro Check.

I also wish I could have met more of the Mich-Sportsmen guys that were down there. And thanks for posting your St. Joe reports from the 2 weeks prior; I enjoy reading them.

Congrats Mike, Brain, Dave and Jim on the second place finish.

Myrmar, for living as far away from that lake as you do and as close to the top you always seem to end up in every tournement you fish over there. I think you and your dad would be scary if you lived as close to Lake Michigan as you do to Huron.

Again Congrats.

Thanks for all the congrats. We were basically fishing straight out of Muskegon and didn't move more than a mile north or south. 220-240 was our best water. 2 colors of lead down to 175' down on the riggers. Hard to pick 9 rods with that much water to cover. each day we had a couple stud rods and they pulled the weight. Lots of good fisherman at the tourney and congrats to everybody. Mike we knew we were close if you came in with 11, you had a good lead on us. Congrats to you too. Derek REEL DEAL
