I would like to know if any of you have fished Holloway for walleys and what seems to be working the best I have been out there about 10 times this year with very little luck! I also have herd that a lot of people are catching a lot of smallmouth's out there I was curious where at and what on? I would like some help on what works and how you are fishing it. thanks:fish:

Pulling Shad style body baits behind boards/bottom-bouncing with harnesses/pitching jigs - casting crankbaits to shoreline structure should get You some Walleyes on Holloway. The bite has been pretty darn good the last couple of weeks. Good luck - Bob

I'm going out to Holloway probably tomorrow. How are the water levels and how has the fishing been the past few days? Any tips would be appreciated, I don't go there too often and I'd like to get into some fish. Thanks.

The Lake is FULL ! Water was at the bottom of the dock walkways last weekend. I would think pulling crankbaits around 2.0 mph, or bottom bouncers with a harness at around 1.0 mph should get You some fish. Good luck, and let Us know how You do - Bob

If you have been to Holloway 10 times so far and not got anything to show for it you must be unluckeyer then me. I even caught some walleye. Went out tonight....got 2 keeper wallys (21" and 16") and 3 real nice crappie. Lost another nice walleye at the boat. All were caught trolling harnesses like the previous guys mentioned.

Went out yesterday and was 1/2. I started over at the tubes and hooked what appeared to be a northern up close to shore, but it spit the hook. Later on we went down the the dam and I caught about a 10 inch largemouth on a rooster tail. It looked pretty slow yesterday for those fishing from shore. I need to get my boat registered soon so I can take it out!!!

Listen to the cham-man, he knows what he's talking about. My partner and I we been slammin bammin the wallys. One 5lber the other night. Way out from the tubes. Hit on a firetiger shad rap. Harnesses are working good, but I preferr body baits. I like fishing the mouth of the lake, south from the mt morris bridge early in the morning. We caught an 18" smallie, and found are crappie spot but only caught a couple. Holloway is a funny lake to fish, not alot of structure. this lake is suppose to be the second best lk in the state for crappies, but we can only caught a few each time out, but were mostly walleye fishing. Get a map of the lk, and find the river channel and fish the edges, last night we caught over fifteen we caught 8 keepers, caught many 15". fishing along the east shore about 60 ft from shore bout 10 to 12 foot of water. I was tossing a white shad tail with a jig toward the shoreline when we marked a bunch of fish, shad is one of there foods in the lake, there is a huge shad kill-off over winter every year in the lk. The last two weekst we been out fishing every night and have caught roughly over 50 fish. My partner and I been fishing it hard the last 5 years, after talking with the dnr, which told us they have been heavily planted the last ten years in the lk. After dark try down by the dam, the water is deeper there, if you can keep the cats off your hook. The lk has been loaded with many boats this year. My spot is north of the bridge in the river channel opens up to bigger water going to columbiaville, the fish hang on the edges of the river channel. I hope it helps, we'll be out there. The colors they hit on chartruse, white, orange blades for harnesses. The bass hit on big fat tube baits, crappies 8oz pink jig head and little tube bodies. Caught an 14" crappie and shad raps shallow divers and hot and tots, purple, orange, blue chrome FISH-ON:fish: :fish: :fish:
