I have a .58 cal. Cap & Ball Muzzle loader and I'm just starting to shoot it. I'm having trouble finding supplies and casting bullets is not so easy either. If you know any good websites, please let me know. I'm in S.E Michigan, so if you know any really good stores. Or even a friend I could write to. I'd be greatful
Thanx

The .58 cal is not so common but the Ye Olde BalckPowder Shoppe in Auburn I think would probably have what you need to get started.

Welcome to the great sport of muzzleloading!!! You are going to have a real blast with your new rifle. .58cal is a great round, I would not hesitate to use it on anything in north america, including bear. As far as finding anything locally for that 58 you might have a little trouble there. I order a lot of stuff from Dixie Gunworks. If it is made for muzzleloaders they have it. www.dixiegun.com As for casting bullets I would need a little more info on your rifle. I am assuming by you saying it is a "cap and ball" that it is a sidelock? what is the barrel length? what is the rate of twist? Rate of twist will decide if you can shoot conicals or minnieballs, or if it is too fast for roundballs. Man are you in for some fun. feel free to e-mail me or ask any question you might have I will be glad to help. Oh yeah I am something of a fanatic about muzzleloaders
