Was wondering if anyone out there uses the ESP brand of electronic shooting protection. This is the hearing aid style that fits inside your ear, unlike the Walker Game Ear. Was hoping to get some feed back. Going to pop the $800 for the pair, but wanted to get some in the field feedback from those that have actually used them. Lost some hearing in my left ear last duck season because I wanted to be able to hear the birds in the fog. Took the plugs out and now I wish I wouldn't have done it. They offer a 30day trial period, but I still want to get some of the likes and dislikes.

Thanks,

3006,

I'm going to save you about $790 bucks here.

Get yourself some Norton Sonic II ear protectors. I've used them for years for hunting and even carry a pair in my pocket to use if I'm doing any thing and will be exposed to loud decibles. They allow you to hear normal sounds but block out the ear damaging sounds. I can hear all the sounds in the woods with them and when I shoot they protect my hearing.

I've purchased them at wal-mart in the past.

Good luck!

3006,

I too have lost a little hearing in my left ear from many years of unprotected shooting. It doesn't take many, I'm only 34.

Now I use a pair of Pelto 6's. The use the noise cancellation principle. They work great in the duck blind, here is why. You can talk normal and hear everyone, even if the whisper. When they are not cancelling noise, they are amplifying it! I wear them on those queit mornings in the deer stand and I can hear deer coming much farther than I ever could before. That chipmunk sneaking up behind you tree sounds like a deer too!

The are about $150, and worth every cent!
