Never been there myself but give the guys at Wilderness Archery (734-913-6283) a call, I'm pretty sure the guy who runs the place shoot them out of the Huron R.
My playground is the Pine R at the mouth of Saginaw Bay.

CARP BONANZA........ there is only one. The Michigan Center chain of lakes in Jackson County. They have a carp carnival every year, big to do. Not sure of the date though.

Definitely - several of the various ponds around the Causeway are full of big carp.

Marshman,

I thought that Metro Beach was part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks and that they had a regulation against weapons (concealed guns with a permit are allowed), including archery equipment, on their properties. If so, this certainly would prevent us from walking the banks. Shotguns are allowed in the fall for waterfowl hunters but I do not remember seeing any other open possession of guns or bows allowed in the park rules. This is what has kept me from planning a trip to bowfish for carp on Stoney Creek Lake.

Maybe someone has a link to their rules and regulations at their web site.

Last week when the Clinton River was high because of the rains I heard reports that the Carp had moved up into some of the ditches and cuts. When the water dropped they were gone.

With the warm temperatures this weekend I think that the season will start to bust out next week.

Some carp were spawning in Halloway over the weekend, thrashing up the weeds pretty good. Some were still milling around sucking dogwood seeds and dead insects off the surface film like they weren't randy.
