Going to be on the bay this weekend? I'm going to launch out of GLM work my way south on Friday and may also be back out there again on Sat. Will be on 68 Reel Fun, 22ft white/burgundy Starcraft either running big boards or inlines. So give a
Bought a season launch pass at GLM for $60 and have been launching out of there with no problem with shallow water. Finally got the skunk out of the boat last weekend when my daughter and wife both reeled in nice 16-18" walleye and all I kept reeling in were those darn Sheephead oh and 1 13" walleye. We were pulling harnesses on BB. Those walleye were mighty tasty regardless of who reeled them in.:)

Gas for truck - $10
Season Pass - $60
Gas for boat - $100
Skunk is out of the boat - Priceless

I'll definitely be out alos. Launching out of Patterson Rd. DNR facility. Will be the maiden voyage of my new rig. Not sure where I'll end up throwing lines out yet. Plan on Sat. & Sun. anyway. I'll be on '68", The Whale. Good luck to all, be safe and have a great weekend. (Any "secret" tips on where to find a few Walleyes ?, I promise I won't tell anyone !) :D :fish2:

Guys-Went out last night. Started in 12' and ended up fishing almost 20'
out of river mouth. Old River Channel. Put 6 in the box. Most were 16-17" only 1 went over 20" but threw back at least 6 others that werent even 10"
Just get on the radio, make your radio check and then listen to what guys are saying. Quite a few are going East of the Island (fishing 6-8' from Knight to Finn) and others are 3-4 miles out from Linwood/Pinconning. Right now its just a matter of trolling and finding baitfish.

I went out after work yesterday and caught 19 to keep 10. They were biting really light and we probably had 25 other bites that did not hook up. We fished 17-20 FOW out from linwood.
I'd leave the big boards at home, it is hard enough to detect a bite on the small boards.
Spinners seem to be working for me, chatruce is the color I've been running.

Good luck

have fun on your maiden voyage, looks like you got yourself a nice rig! Its only been a few days and I can't wait to get back out on the bay. If this gives you any indication of how much I'm looking forward to tomorrow and this weekend, I was out on the Detroit River last night running inline boards and harnesses. Guys at the launch were a bit shocked but I hooked into a couple walleye within the first half hour out, and even managed to pull in a silver bass that was pulling that board back harder than the walleye were.

About 4 or 5 miles out from GLM in about 20-24ft ne or se of the Sag Bar has been good to us. Depending how we do around Sag bar and Pinconning bar this weekend, we may make a run ou to the Charities. Anyone have a report on how they are doing out that way?

they have been getting a few off of whitestone point, heard a lot of smaller 16-19 inchers off the sagining bar, big ones might be heading deeper.

Well, finally made it out there Sun. (28th). 17' - 20' in front of Linwood/Hoyles area. A buddy and I caught 22 'eyes, brought home 3 in the time we had. Mostly sub-legals, our biggest fish was 18". Had a blast, just couldn't find the bigger fish. Sun burnt to hell for sure. Flo. green & Chartreuse were our best colors, b.b's and harnesses. Ended up having to drift, the new boat doesn't like to troll down enough. Even dragging three buckets and trimming all the way up I still couldn't get below 2.5 - 2.6 mph. Definitely going to have to figure something out with that. Need to troll ! ;) :coolgleam :fish2:

I have a used Beaver Troll (if you have an I.O) that I'd sell ya cheap. I took it off my Grady when I got the Yamaha HT for my trolling needs. PM me if your interested. I also have a lure deal coming up in the next few days that will blow all your minds. Keep watching the (for sale) board.

We went out this morning and the action was pretty fast and furious! Had to do a lot of sorting but ended up with 15 fish in the box (fourteen 16"-19" and one hog 30").

We were in 17-20' of water between linwood and pinconning running bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses. Gold seemed to be the color of choice today.

Now if we could just get rid of the flies. Cant ask for much better weather though!!!

Didn't do too bad this weekend. Headed up towards Au Gres on Fri and caught a 31 in Pike on gold and red crawler harness. Boat control was a bit difficult on Fri then we cleared out when the fog rolled in so it was a short trip that day.
Sat we kept 2 about 1-2 miles east of Sag bar.
Sun we kept 3 walleye and my daughter was telling us how much she likes to catch catfish so when it was her turn to reel in her fish, you'll never guess what she had at the end of her line? You guessed it, a 20 in cat. She had more fun that day bringing in that fish than she would have limiting out on walleye.
#5 blades outfished #4's. In fact Sun all the fish were caught on the larger blades. We fished mostly in 13-20ft of water.
Glad to hear that everyone had fun this weekend and boat traffic wasn't as bad where we were at as it could have been. Didn't catch the large numbers of fish but most of the ones we caught were keepers.

We made it out friday nite, saturday morning, sunday nite and monday morning. Friday nite me and a buddy fished linwood area for about 2 1/2 hrs and managed 7 keepers and 2 jumbo perch with about 15 throw backs. Saturday morning four of us made our way out of augres and olny managed 2 keepers with one being a decent fish. Sunday nite we went out of linwood just two of us again and ended up with 7 keepers again and about 25 throw backs. Monday morning four of us went out of linwood to a different spot and pulled our 4 man limit in about 4hrs with about 40 throw backs all these fish ranged from 15-18in,one decent fish, and one really nice fish with another really good one being lost right behind the boat. All in all a fairly decent weekend with a handful of fish being put in the freezer.
