Fishermen,
Hey does anyone have any information on the fishing in the Cass River at Evergreen Park. I am going up there camping this weekend and was wondering what kind of fish are in there and what to catch them on. Any info will help. Oh and how was the smelt fishing this year over on the East coast.
Thanks,

Where is Evergreen Park? In what city?
Not sure but it must not be by Frankenmuth/Vassar area.
Usually decent bass and an occassional pike can be found in the Cass
at least from dam in 'Muth up to Tuscola area.
Walleye can be found from bottom of dam in Muth to Saginaw River
and carp and catfish.

Its about 10 miles north of the intersection of M46 and M53 on M53. Its by Decker Michigan. I hear its a pretty mucky (muddy) river. You think live bait or lures? If so what? Yeah its a ways from Frankenmuth.

In that stratch fine the holes, and have fun with smallies, along with other fish. Artificial and live bait will both work. Tubes should produce some smallies though.

Sorry about not being able to post back on here till now. Left for the thumb camping right after I posted on here. How was the fishing? Strike kings bleeding series tube baits work well. The presentation through the water looks like a wounded minow.

fishing was pretty good. Caught couple smallies. Lots of gills. The water was pretty high but not to bad. Went the the Abates biker get together at evergreen park there. First time there what a crazy party. Hey if you have any other good spots in the thumb let me know. My parents are from around marlette area so if you know of any spots around there....
