Cuddebacks come with a cable to fix it to the tree and the case is lockable to prevent it being stolen. Having said that, while it might deter a thief, if somebody really wants it they will find a way. They are password protected, though, so if it gets stolen, at least the thief probably won't be able to use it, not that it's much of a consolation.

Cuddeback also has a couple of new cameras coming out next month. One has a longer flash and the other has IR. I've been waiting since march for their intro. I figure if I'm going to spend the big bucks might as well get the latest.

Cabela's has the new cams and the IR model is $450 which is the one I am drooling over right now. I also think the Cuddebacks have a mounting screw right in the middle of the housing to attatch the camera directly to the tree.

I think they call it a bear proof housing. First, you screw the backing to a tree, then put the camera in. Then, the front face goes on and a padlock keeps the front on. Someone could pry it off with a pry bar, but it would not be easy. (use long lag bolts)
