Improvement in fishing possible for 2006
Ed Retherford, owner of Trout Scout Charters of Alpena, said during July of last year few salmon were caught. When he moved to Presque Isle in August, he saw an increase in the size and the take of salmon there. The fishing near Port Sanilac is the best it’s been in three years for salmon, he added.
“I’m cautiously optimistic from what I’ve seen off the thumb,” he said.
