Guys and Gals,
Driving down from Minnesota to see my boys in Battle Creek and want to take them on Union Lake in the boat. They're 9 and 5 and don't care what kind of fish they catch. Me, I'm looking for pike. Anybody been fishing there lately and can point me in the right direction? Been living in Minnesota for three years and have lost my bearings on Union Lake. My 9 yr old is excited to catch his first "pike-fish"!!!!!

Take care, everyone, and SAFE fishing to all!!!!!

One would think, huh?

;)

Anyway, went out on Saturday - hotter than the surface of the sun - and me and the boys (9, 5) caught four smaller carp, eight or nine smaller largies and a mountain of gills. We anchored about 30 feet away from the dam and dropped a simple snelled hook with a chunk of crawler to the bottom. Had bites virtually all day. Great fun for the kids. Daddy wanted to go hit some bays and weeds for pike, but it was much too hot to keep the boys in the boat and, unfortunately, there's no public beach on Union (so far as I know).

Moving Mama and the boys to Minnesota this summer, so fishing in Michigan will likely be much less. One last hurrah with my Pennsylvania uncles and Wisconsin brother in Muskegon in June, then we're gone. Had a great time in your state. Good luck to all.

Signing off........Water Wolves!!
