I always do some searching with a white or black/chart. spinnerbait. Then when I find where they are congregating(SP?), I start throwing the book at them to find the best bait.

While having both Large/Smallmouth, seems most of the Tournys held on the lake are won with a bag of Smallies. I would think tubes would be a good starting point. I have caught some dandy Largemouth casting Lrg. Bucktails for Muskies tho. Good luck - Bob

I would agree with a spinnerbait as a search bait, also a lipless crank(rattletrap) over deep weeds/edges. Then slow down with a tube, I love chartreuse, but have done well on white also. I live on Sanford, so I have never fished wixom.

BIL lives there too. Will be up there June 22-25 fishing. Where abouts do you live? BIL lives just upstream from the campgrounds.

i live up there also-right at the mouth of the first fill. my goto search bait is a firetiger husky jerk. smallies, bucketmouths, pike and walleye will all crack them. there are probably at least 30 of those stuck on submerged trees in that lake thanks to me.
