when you run the spoons, do you have to change your set up at all for handlining? Also, what types of spoons do you use? Thanks for the help

Run the little Rays spoons you can get them from Lakeside, they are lighter then regular spoons and thinner metal. I run 3 leads 40-20 and5, 5 on the bottom, then 20, then 40, I run them lower then when I am running Raps, and troll faster. Good luck.

That's the good thing about the HL spoons they're CHEAP so you can get all kinds of color combos.
I run 5-15-30 with most (90%) of my fish coming on the 5 & 15 this year.

Do you guys run the spoons during the day and body baits at night?
Also, we are gonna head out tonight and give it a go but all I have is pencil plugs. Is anyone getting them on plugs or is it strictly a rap bite?
Will report in the AM

I ran both at the same time yesterday, spoon on the 30ft, and #9 on the 15 foot, even 3/3 split on the fish, but I did put a smaller fish back that came on the spoon, so 4/3 spoon won.

Hey Derek, dont worry I will leave a few fish for ya:D You have to make the money when you can so you can play ouit on the water. Houghton Laker, it was good to meet you finaly, hope to see more of you in the future, its always nice to put a face with a name. As predicted, put the smack down on them again, by the fountain, was back at the dock before I had my second cup of coffee,(drank the first one on the way out), takes longer to drive over there then it does to get the limits:evilsmile Same colors, same location, same time. See you all on the water.

Yes, it is a awsome spot, I have been there for about 10 years now, for most of those years I was the only one there, when gus's wife died a few years back he didnt have anyone but myself there. Its good to have more guys. I think this is Charlie Brown's second year its always good to see him. Hope hotwired gets a spot next year, man, those walleye will be in trouble:lol: Dont worry about locking it in for next year, Gus is a great guy, you will get dibs before any new guy will. Got some work to do tommorrow so I wont make it out, will be out Fri. but I may have to take my girlfriends 6 year old son, he keeps begging me, so I may have to go find some panfish. See ya later.

Question, can you fish the opposite side of Belle Isle from St. Jeans and still be in American water?

a canadien license is only $20 canadien for the year, 30 if you want the sportman one (keep more fish). Just let you all know. If your looking for a quick place in windsor to get one, west from the bridge on wyndotte, when it ends, turn right on Mill. Follow to the lights (sandwich street) On the corner, Wally's baits. Most of you all prob know the place, but hey, i'm bored.

Thanks! I finally found a map that shows the border and it is pretty tight on that side. Do you think there are any fish in that tight? We have been beating the other side of Belle isle to the bridge and there don't seem to be anymore fish over there except for the ocassioanl one or two.
I guess we'll have to go over there and the two of us that do have canadaian liscenses will try and get a few and then head back over to the American side and try and find something for the guys that dont:lol: .
Thanks for the heads up! We will be launching at St. Jeans tomorrow AM early. We are the crazys with the boat and no trailer, but hey, thats what truck beds are for.
Tight lines.

If you have to fish the US side, I would try, the U.S. side of Peche Island, from the range light at the mouth of the river down to Belle Isle, fish deep for them.
