I'm headed up north this coming weekend to my native Alpena. Last year I fished the floodwaters and did very well on bucketmouths this time of year. Has anyone fished it in the past few weeks or could give me a report.

dropped in the evening of may 16th............bucketmouths were as thick as thieves..only boat at dnr launch and one of 2 boats on the pond..wind about 20 mph, water temp running about 61...was hard to keep the largemouths off..half keeper, half sub legal....pike were small except one monster we did not boat..and only one sub legal smallie....weeds not a problem as yet..bout any method still workable and those ol' bass seemed to be hitting anything we offered!
