Started at Garwoods at midnight nothing, grandstands nada, B.I.bridge zip, pasture zilch, finally found some takers at WYC at 2:30 am. fished until 4:30. Ended up w 5 in the 15-18" class and 1 at 22". Clown #7 was best. I'll be out again tonight, and may be looking for a partner if anybody might be interested. Probably heading out about 11pm and fish until whenever.:)

Where do most launch for night fishing?

Some launch at St. Jean, but you have to be back before they lock the gate and I don't know what time that is. Most launch at Alter Rd., open all night. I guess it depends on how late you plan on fishing. Alter rd. has no security but I've always been safe there. If your boat is bigger than 17-18' you would'nt want to launch there.Good Luck.:)

Thanks Allucaneat! I will post how we do tomorrow. We tried to find the Alter Road launch the other day but decided to go to St. Jeans instead of wasting fishing time looking.

Is the launch right at the end of Alter Road?

Take Alter alll the way to the end (past Jefferson) It'll curve to the right and the launch will be immediately on your right hand side.Good Luck. I'll be out tonight 2 probably over to the sand piles stop in say hello if your in the area. 20' Cresty tan w/blue and Yamahas on her or if you have a radio ALLUCANEAT on 68....:)

We didn't make it to the Canadian side yesterday due to lack of horse power. Thats too far of a run for the boat we were using from St. Jeans. How far of a run is it from Alter to the sand piles? Hope you guys did well. We only got one.

Fished WYC and highrise area. Purpledescent #7 was the ticket. Got started around 11 or so had my 6 by 12. The fish were nice, thick, quality fish all in the 18"-22" class. Superhunter, even at a very slow clip the sandpiles are no more than a 20 min. ride from St. Jeans. Fisheater, still not sure about my work schedule but Sunday morn (early like 4ish) is a definite go, I'll keep in touch brotha.:)

Okay next time I am definitely trying handlining! How long of leads are you running if yo don't mind me asking? I completely understand if you don't want to say.

At night I only run 2 leads usually a 20' and a 5' kicker but some times I'll run a 40' instead of the 20'. :)

I run a 30', 15' with a 5' kicker on the bottom during the day. At night I take the 5' off, and run the 30 and 15. #9 Rap on the 30, and a #7 rap on the 15 at nightime so far this year. It's been working quite nicely.;)

Can't afford the $1300 if I want to chase the birds this fall... thanks anyway.

How long are the leads if you run pencils instaed of raps?
