Congrats to Lake Effect for their first place finish! Also Ahabs revenge for their 3rd place, and Reel Deal took 6th out of a field of over 90 boats. Great fishing guys!

Team Double Down took 10th overall and 3rd place in the 333 and over $1,600 in prizes.:D

We fished 7 miles N/NW in 150-170fow. We boxed 19 fish on Sat with 5 coho, 2 steelhead, and 11 kings with 11 to weigh out of a possible 12. Sunday we boxed 6 and lost some nice ones before they called the tourney and had to be inside the pierheads by 10am. Great call by the commitee as it was getting bad out there.

Copper, half cores, riggers 20-90 down all took fish. NBK, SWT (show your t!ts:lol:), lemon ice, sister sledge, mixed veggies, spook, kevorkian, and blue dolphin in regs and mags took fish. Overall a great time fishing and putting team Double Down on the map. Loking forward to seeing everyone in the next events. I have some pics on fishinfox's camera hopefuly he will send me.

Thanks Tim. That was some bangin fishing saturday for sure. We boated 22 fish, and more importantly got our 3 steelhead and were sitting in 8th after day 1. Day 2 featured some ungodly wind but we picked away in the shortened day for 8 smaller kings which proved to be enough to move us into 3rd. Lake effect got his 9nth fish as he was pulling lines and that proved to be the difference!!! Congradulations to Brian and crew, and to the other successful MS guys!!!

ok, heres a few shots from the weekend. I really didn't take any pics of our fish. We were pretty busy trying our best to win, so we didn't take any pics on the water, and our fish were donated so there were no 'catch' photos.

Great job team Ahab!

We were neck and neck both days. It just came down to a couple bigger fish i guess.

It was a fun tournament and since we were in the same marina I got to rip on gomer more!

See you at GH

The Grady Laker team (Listed as Great Laker) finished 7th. We were pleased with that being nubies and all. We enter 2 tournaments in 2 years with 2 different boats and they mess our name up twice. I'm starting to think that the Steelheader's can't spell/read ;-).

Cutting the tournament short on the second day definately hurt us...we were on a nice even pace Sunday. 6 hours would have come in handy...we probably would have turned 12 in again. We hit our last/biggest fish after we popped our last dipsey. Good luck for us..bad luck for the 3-4 teams behind us. We were comfortable in our ride but I guess I'd rather the tournament officials play it safe.

Wow it was crazy Saturday afternoon in the channel. Good show from the sheriff. Can you say lack of tact?

All and all we had a great time and learned a lot. We catch our fair share fun fishing but a tournament really makes you step up.

Congrats to Reel Deal...what a come back! I think they moved up something like 30 places the second day. Gomer...didn't get a chance to meet ya but congrats on Team Ahab's strong finish as well.

Not sure what team Grady Laker's plans are for the rest of the year but we may try another one. We had a strong showing last year at GH..maybe we will try that one.

Thanks to the steelheaders and all the volunteers. It was a great tournament.

yeah it was pretty crazy in the channel saturday. we got in before the real madness started.

hey palegic1, didnt good ol' Skip Berry try to take out your boat in that whole snaffoo in the channel and in the process snag one of your rods?

Team Ahab will be at the GH, Muskegon, Manistee and Ludington tournies this summer.

good job guys and congrats. could you believe smackwater in the 18' sunday??

Yeah they just proved what Captain Fred is always trying to point out, it just takes a little luck to bank in these tournies, they finished 23rd but their 17 pounder meant over 3000 in cash and prizes!!!

How was their 333 finish worth $3000 in cash and prizes? Or was this for the entire event?

I see the $1000 prize for the largest fish in 333. Then they get ??? for winning the 333. Plus they got big fish of the event?

We are going over to GH in 2 weeks. It will be our only lake mich tournament this year. I cant see entering in the 333 myself. They take your cash, then payout in a bunch of prizes? Or am I missing something. I see 73 boats entered it in SH. They took in $7300 in entry. Then I do not see where the return to the participants is? It must go to the overall prize structure???

mrymar -

I think steve meant $3000 for the entire event - not from 333.

You are not missing anything regarding the 333 other than the overall finish prizes. But you have to enter 3 or more and pay extra to be eligible for these.

Other than that - you are right, there is one cash award for big fish and the rest are prizes.

I am still wondering where the return to the participants is as well.

We chose to put our money into gamblers pots/side bets instead.
