I've got a 40 hp evinrude that's giving me problems, but only at top end. It starts up great and idles nice and smooth but every so often when running full, the engine will bog down, sometimes to a low idle and sometimes it will shut down completely. I can't tell when it's going to happen and I can't make it happen. Seems like a fuel supply problem to me and so far, the gas, gas tank(3 different ones), supply line and bulb, plugs and fuel pump have been replaced and it's still happening.
From friends and marinas, no two diagnoses have been the same so I guess going by "majority rules". Maybe I should start a poll!! It's so intermittant, I've been poking at this for 2 years.:banghead3
The most frustrating part is that it only happens north of Grayling and not close to home. I'm heading up this weekend so I'm kinda expecting problems....or maybe not!!
Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.
